Safety First: Essential Tips for Every Gas User
Using LPG is a safe, efficient, and cost-effective way to power your kitchen or business, but it requires respect and proper handling. At Quality Gases, your safety is our priority. Follow these “Golden Rules” to ensure a worry-free experience:
-
The “Upright” Rule: Always store and use your gas cylinders in an upright position. Laying a cylinder on its side can cause liquid gas to leak through the valve, leading to dangerous flare-ups.
-
Ventilation is Key: Never use LPG in a small, enclosed room without airflow. Ensure your kitchen or workspace has adequate ventilation to prevent the buildup of carbon monoxide.
-
The Soapy Water Test: Never use a lighter or match to check for leaks. Instead, apply a mixture of soapy water to the connections. If bubbles form, you have a leak.
-
Distance Matters: Keep cylinders at least 1.5 meters away from heat sources, electrical sockets, or open flames.
-
Certified Equipment Only: Always use high-quality regulators and SABS/SAZ-approved hoses. If a hose looks cracked or brittle, replace it immediately.
